Blog Post 12

June - August

So I guess it's time for another update and I regret that I have very little to update you on!
I am waiting for my nursing exam results and there is not really  much I can do in this regard but I am learning to wait patiently on the Lord. It gives me comfort to know that the Lord Jesus Christ is producing in me patience and patience will produce character and character, hope (Romans 5:3-5)

I have been working some extra hours in Theatre to try keep myself busy but  most of the surgeons have been on leave because of school holidays so I have not really had that much to do!This has been a good time for me and I praise the Lord for His wisdom in it all, having the extra time has freed me up to be able to  serve others and to be more involved with ministry needs in the church.

We recently had our second STM team over from Grace Community Church in LA .I had the privilege of being able to host the ladies and I am thankfull for the friendships we now have in Christ. What a joy it  was to serve alongside  them! I really hope and pray that much fruit will come from their ministry here in Sasolburg.

The annual Holiday Bible Club at the church doubled in numbers from last year (over 85 children came),so we can praise the Lord for that! We had some of the children from Katherine Robson join us for that week too (a home for children where we are already involved in as a church)

We were also able to go to Matwala (an orphanage) where we have had some involvment in over the past  few years. We have struggled in the past with not having an interpretor but we have a lady in our congregation at grace who can speak Sotho and who could assist with translation  there, so please pray for this ministry should the Lord want us to be more involved there.

We also had an oportunity to run a one day holiday club for the children from Zamdella(a township nearby). We had an attendance of over 100 children. The Pastor is very keen to run a friday night AWANA program and is wanting to partner with us to reach the children there. The church does not have trained people to run a weekly bible class but is requesting any training that can be offered. Please pray that the Lord would bring forward people for a team to minister there and to equip them for the ministry.

I am going camping  this weekend and I am hoping to get some good spiritual rest as well as some time to just refocus my attentions on Christ. I am seeking the Lord's direction for next year. I am considering continuing with my 3rd and 4th year of nursing and doing a Biblical councelling course that Dr Wayne Mack will be offering. I am considering to transfer back to Jhb since that would help me to be more settled in the church and help with travelling costs to Pretoria every week, however I  need to first get my results before I can request for a transfer.

I mentioned previously that I will be going on a missions trip with some brothers and sisters in Christ from Midrand Chapel and another Grace Church to visit the Reformed Baptist Church in Harare (Zimbabwe) in July, we are now leaving on the 15th of August so please pray for our trip, we hope to return on the 21st. Pray that the ministry will be fruitful and that the Lord would be glorified through us.
